I've had the privilege of starting my journey with Oak Valley College right along with the school itself. I taught the first class on the first day with the first cohort back in fall of 2016. We were all finding our footing in those earliest days, but what a long way we have come in 10 years! I am blessed to get to practice the calling that God has put on my life to teach with a college that genuinely cares about its students' spiritual growth as well as their academic preparation for the careers that the Lord will lead them into. I get to teach students the value of understanding how people have navigated the human experience throughout history and how they are following in the footsteps of many who have come before them as they navigate their own time and generation in light of their faith. We get to explore the variety of creative ways that humans have been creatively inspired to express their experiences through the creation of historical records, literature, art, and music. Students have been able to also explore ethical and moral questions of how a Christian can live in and be a positive influence in a world that often runs contrary to Christian principles.
My greatest joy and fulfillment in my vocation is to witness our students' process of applying their faith to how we move and live and have our being in this world as they prepare to be launched into the path God is calling them to enter after their time at Oak Valley College.
