Class of 2025
When Leslie first embarked on her journey through the Oak Valley College business program, she knew the road ahead would demand immense sacrifice. Over nearly three years, balancing her personal life with the rigorous demands of school proved to be an intense test of strength. Through countless late nights, tears, and unexpected obstacles thrown her way, Leslie persevered—emerging on the other side not just as a graduate, but as a true overcomer filled with a profound sense of relief and accomplishment.
From day one, Oak Valley College served as far more than an academic stepping stone; it became a crucial safe place for her spiritual growth. Through her coursework, Leslie learned to view the business world through a God-centered lens, discovering how to integrate her faith directly into ethical decision-making. In times of difficulty, the program nurtured her resilience and provided a safe, supportive environment where she could openly discuss her faith with peers and staff. Being prayed for and engaging in honest conversations about spirituality deepened her faith and transformed how she approaches life's challenges.
What surprised Leslie most was the depth of genuine, personal connections she built in such a short time. Oak Valley College’s professors invested deeply in both her academic and spiritual development, creating a community that went far beyond traditional education. Whether leading worship and ministering during monthly student engagement events or sharing quiet, meaningful talks with staff members, Leslie found a vibrant community where she could share her gifts. Unforgettable memories—like camping under the stars during her first Student Retreat and sharing endless laughter with her cohort—forever cemented these bonds.
Looking ahead to the future, Leslie acknowledges feeling a bit nervous about what comes next, but her time at Oak Valley has anchored her in unwavering trust. Confident that relying on God and seeking His guidance will lead her forward, she steps into the next chapter without worry—trusting completely that God will unfold the path ahead in His perfect timing.
