Professional Development for Faculty and Staff

Oak Valley budgets funding for professional development to support faculty and staff. Funds are allocated on an individual basis based on faculty or staff position (e.g. part-time vs full-time, salaried vs hourly, adjunct faculty, Lead Faculty, etc.) Funds for training and professional development may be requested at any time during the year, but are most commonly discussed and requested during performance review meetings.

From time-to-time, funding for professional development may be requested or required for a team function, which may be requested by the individual leading the team or a member of the team.

Examples of professional development funding have included:

• Funds to attend in a conference

• Training resources or materials

• Online professional event or conference

• Access to professional resources, journals, or membership in a professional association
